About Dr. Bechoy

Dr. Bechoy Abdelmalak is a Board-certified psychiatrist and the founder and CEO of The Wellness Medicine of New York. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency at New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital Center. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Abdelmalak holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Misr University for Science and Technology and a Master’s in Psychopharmacology from the Neuroscience Education Institute.

Dr. Abdelmalak currently serves as the Director of Inpatient Psychiatry at Metropolitan Hospital Center / New York Medical College and as the Associate Training Director of the Metropolitan Psychiatry Residency Program. He is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at New York Medical College.

Throughout his career, Dr. Abdelmalak has been dedicated to improving mental health outcomes and helping patients regain control of their lives, academic performance, relationships, and overall well‑being. He specializes in ADHD, Anxiety disorders, Depression, PTSD, Bipolar disorders, and related conditions.

Dr. Abdelmalak takes a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to psychiatric care, integrating evidence‑based medication management, psychotherapy, and advanced treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to support each patient’s mental health journey.

A Strong Foundation in Psychiatry & Integrative Medicine

Dr. Abdelmalak earned his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine and completed his Psychiatry residency at New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital Center—where he now serves as the Director of Inpatient Psychiatry. His academic background is further strengthened by:
